South Uist and Rosemarkie crashes leave two in hospital

A woman has been airlifted to hospital after her car crashed on the A867 on North Uist.

The emergency services were alerted at 11:38 following the accident at Langass, three miles east of Clachan.

The injured motorist was flown by helicopter to Western Isles Hospital in Stornoway.

In a separate incident, a male cyclist was airlifted to Raigmore Hospital in Inverness after a collision with a 4x4 vehicle at 14:39 in Rosemarkie.

And three vehicles were involved in a crash on the A82 near Glencoe Ski Centre.

Police said it was not known at this stage how many people were involved in the accident, which happened at about 14:13.
