Suspected human skull found on Western Isles beach

Police have said what is thought to be a human skull has been found on a beach in the Western Isles.

A member of the public made the discovery on 23 June.

Northern Constabulary said forensic investigations were being done on the bone to confirm whether the remains were human.

Police said no other bones were found at the beach and there was no information to indicate the find was connected to a recent death.
