Princess Royal new Scottish university's chancellor

Princess Anne Princess Anne will represent the university during trips overseas

The Princess Royal has been officially installed as chancellor of Scotland's newest university.

The University of the Highlands and Islands (UHI), which has sites in Argyll, Highland, Moray, Perth and the islands, was confirmed in 2011.

Princess Anne's ceremonial role will involve conferring degrees at graduations and representing UHI overseas.

She officially took up the appointment in a ceremony at Inverness Cathedral.
