Body confirmed as missing Inverness man Edward Porter

A body found in a canal has been identified as missing Inverness man Edward Porter.

His body was found by a member of the public at Muirtown Basin, in Inverness, on 27 April.

Northern Constabulary said they were not treating Mr Porter's death as suspicious.

His family last saw him on 11 April. He was thought to have left home to go fishing on the Caledonian Canal, or the River Ness.

Grampian Police's underwater unit were involved in searches for Mr Porter.
