Missing walker search in Glendessary near Fort William stood down

Police have stood down the search for a 73-year-old hillwalker who was reported missing in Glendessary, near Fort William.

The man, from the Worcester area, was reported missing on Sunday after last seen by fellow walkers on Friday evening.

An RAF rescue helicopter and mountain rescue team members carried out aerial searches on Monday.

They found no trace of the walker, but said the search will resume on Tuesday.

Police in Fort William asked anyone who may have seen the man to contact them.

He is described as being about 5ft 7in tall with short grey hair. He was wearing silver glasses, black walking trousers, a blue fleece jacket and was carrying a red and black rucksack.
