Potential new lead in Nairn's Alistair Wilson murder

Police are investigating a potential new lead in the unsolved murder of a bank worker seven years ago.

Father-of-two Alistair Wilson, 30, was shot dead on the door step of his home in Nairn in 2004.

In a phone call to a newspaper, a charity worker said he had met a man who claimed to know the killer.

Northern Constabulary said it was following up details of the call and said Mr Wilson's murder remained a live investigation.

The Inverness Courier has reported receiving a call from a Dutch charity worker who claimed to have met a man who knew Mr Wilson and the murderer.

Mr Wilson was shot with a handgun by a stocky man in a baseball cap who had handed him an envelope.

A massive police investigation was launched but the murder remains unsolved.
