Skye beer Cuillin Beast named Scottish champ

A beer brewed on an island has been named the Campaign for Real Ale's Champion Beer of Scotland 2011.

Isle of Skye brewery's Cuillin Beast was honoured at the Scottish Real Ale Festival, which runs until Saturday in Edinburgh.

Runner-up in this year's competition was Black Gold produced by Aviemore's Cairngorm brewery.

Houston brewery in Renfrewshire took third place with its beer called Peter's Well.
