A hotel in Sutherland has been included on a list of the world's 10 most remote places to stay.

US magazine Forbes puts the Garvault Hotel, near Kinbrace, at number 10 saying that "there is nothing for miles".

More than a two-hour drive from Inverness, the hotel sits between two large shooting estates.

Bloomfield Lodge in Australia is the remotest, with Winterlake in Alaska and Greenland's Hotel Arctic also listed.

On its website, the Garvault is described as Britain's most remote hotel.
