Body found in woodland believed to be missing OAP

A body found in woodland in East Dunbartonshire is believed to be that of a missing man, police have said.

Matthew Bowie, 83, was last seen by a neighbour outside his home in Gleneagles Gardens, Bishopbriggs, on the morning of Sunday 24 January.

His family had made a public appeal for help in tracing him on Monday.

Police said the family had been informed that a body, believed to be Mr Bowie's, had been found in a wooded area in Bishopbriggs at about 10:00.
