Tourist is sexually assaulted in Glasgow

Police are appealing for witnesses after a tourist was sexually assaulted in the west end of Glasgow.

The 28-year-old woman was walking through Kibble Palace at Botanic Gardens at about 14:45 on Saturday when the man exposed himself to her.

He then indecently assaulted the woman before leaving the palace at the Queen Margaret Drive/Byres Road exit.

He is described as of Asian appearance, 25 years of age, 5ft 7in tall, of medium build with short dark hair.

He was wearing a light-coloured T-shirt under a blue denim shirt, black trousers and dark shoes.

Det Sgt Alan Cuthbert said: "This assault was very distressing for the lady who is on holiday in Scotland at the moment.

"She had seen the man in the palace prior to the incident and so it may be that he had been loitering there for some time and may have done something similar to others who may not yet have come forward.

"Botanic Gardens would have been very busy with visitors especially as the weather was so nice.

"I would ask that anyone who saw the man or who recognises him from the description contacts the police."
