Thomas Feeney in court over farm raid attack in Salsburgh

A man is to stand trial charged with committing an armed robbery and sexual assault at a farm in North Lanarkshire.

Thomas Feeney is accused of attacking a 32-year-old woman with intent to rape in Salsburgh, on 5 September last year.

Mr Feeney, 46, is also alleged to have threatened the woman and her partner and stolen £2,000, along with car keys, a vehicle and underwear. He also faces a separate firearms charge.

Mr Feeney pleaded not guilty to the charges at the High Court in Glasgow.

Judge Lady Rae set a trial due to begin in September.
