Man in hospital after car overturns on busy Glasgow road

A man has been taken to hospital after the car he was driving struck three vehicles and came to rest on its roof in the south side of Glasgow.

The incident happened on Kilmarnock Road, in the city's Shawlands area, at about 13:50 on Thursday.

Police said the man's southbound Vauxhall Corsa struck a lorry and two other vehicles before overturning.

He was taken to the Victoria Infirmary as a precaution. His injuries are not life-threatening. No-one else was hurt.

Kilmarnock Road was closed for almost two hours in both directions and local diversions were put in place. The road re-opened at 15:55.

Police said inquiries into the incident were continuing.
