Police name man, 63, killed by truck in north Glasgow
Police have released the name of a 63-year-old man who died after being hit by a lorry in the north of Glasgow.
William Brown, was hit while crossing Balmore Road, where he lived, near to Mireton Street, at 13:40 on Wednesday.
Emergency services attended but he was pronounced dead at the scene. The 48-year-old lorry driver was uninjured but left badly shaken.
Balmore Road was closed for four-and-a-half hours following the incident. Police have appealed for witnesses.
Constable Graeme Easton, of Police Scotland, said: "The collision occurred in a very busy stretch of road and I would appeal to both motorists and pedestrians who were in the area and saw the crash to come forward."
