Second man arrested over death of Martin Toner in 2004

A second man is arrested in connection with the death of man whose body was found in a field in Renfrewshire almost 10 years ago.

The body of Martin Toner was found by a farmer near the village of Langbank in July 2004.

The 34-year-old was facing drug trafficking charges before he died.

Police Scotland said a 56-year-old man had been arrested and detained. Last December a 49-year-old man was charged with Mr Toner's murder.

The 56-year-old is expected to appear at Paisley Sheriff Court on Tuesday.

Mr Toner was last seen on Tuesday 29 June 2004 at about 15:00 in Main Street, Langbank. It is not known why he was there.

He had been at the Key to Life gym in Ashtree Road, Pollokshields, Glasgow, earlier that day.
