Appeal over 15-year-old injured after losing control of car

Police have appealed for information after a 15-year-old driver was injured in a car crash in Ayrshire.

The crash took place on the A713, south of Dalmellington, at about 22:00 on Saturday.

Officers believe the driver of lost control of the Vauxhall Corsa and collided with trees before landing in a burn down an embankment.

The boy was thrown from the car during the crash and suffered serious head and pelvic injuries.

Emergency services airlifted him to Ayr hospital where his condition is described as serious but stable.

There were two other 15-year-old boys in the car at the time. Both were treated at Crosshouse hospital for minor injuries.

Police have urged anybody with any information on the crash to get in touch.
