Members of the public have been urged not to approach a missing sex offender who failed to attend a police station.

Police have issued a photograph of Tongchen Hou, 26, who was last seen in Dennistoun, Glasgow, on 20 May.

He was reported missing on Monday. Police said he was required by law to report to a police station, but had failed to do so.

Mr Hou is described as Chinese, of a slim build, about 5ft 6in tall, with brown eyes and short black hair.

He was last seen wearing black trousers, and a cream parka-style jacket with a fur hood.

Det Insp Ogilvie Ross, of Police Scotland, said: "Mr Hou doesn't have a permanent address and was due to stay at hostel accommodation in Glasgow from Tuesday. However, he didn't turn up.

"Officers are checking other hostels in Glasgow and CCTV in Glasgow City Centre, where Mr Hou is known to frequent, in an effort to trace him.

"If seen Mr Hou is not to be approached and the police should be contacted immediately."
