Police want to trace a man who attacked a woman at an electronic music festival in Glasgow at the weekend.

The 25-year-old victim was seriously assaulted at the Electric Frog Festival, outside the Riverside Museum, at about 21:00 on Saturday.

She was later released from the Western Infirmary after being treated for a head injury.

The suspect is described as a white male, aged between 20 and 25 years old, of medium build with short brown hair.

He spoke with a local accent and at the time of the attack was wearing a red polo style t-shirt.

Audience appeal

Police said the woman was with friends at the festival when an argument broke out with a couple of men who had been speaking to them.

One of the men hit the woman on the head. She was initially treated at the first aid tent then taken to hospital.

Det Con Gillian Wood, of Police Scotland, said: "Inquiries are continuing to establish the full circumstances surrounding this assault.

"I would appeal to patrons of the festival who witnessed the incident or anyone who knows the identity of the suspect to come forward."
