Appeal for witnesses after sexual assault in Larkhall

Police are appealing for witnesses after a 22-year-old woman was sexually assaulted in Larkhall, South Lanarkshire.

The woman was walking on Marshall Street at about 01:10 on Saturday when she was approached by a man who then grabbed her.

She struggled with the man and managed to run away.

The suspect is described as white, with a slim build. He was wearing a grey tracksuit.

Police said the woman did not require hospital treatment but was badly shaken as a result of this assault.

Officers would like to speak to anyone who may have information about the incident, in particular a man who spoke to the victim as she walked past the Central Bar in Larkhall.

He was walking a small white dog at the time.
