Missing man's body pulled from River Clyde

The body of a man who went missing after a night out has been pulled from the River Clyde in Glasgow.

Gary Murphy, also known as Marcus Ciccone, had been reported missing since 6 April.

His body was recovered from the River Clyde at Broomielaw at about 10:00am on Wednesday 16 April.

The 25-year-old, from East Kilbride in South Lanarkshire, was last seen on Ingram Street in Glasgow's Merchant City on 23 March.

There had been no confirmed sightings of him since despite a high-profile police appeal.

A Police Scotland statement said: "Although DNA tests have still to be concluded, family members have identified him as missing man Gary Murphy. Twenty-five-year-old Gary was last seen on 23 March."
