Woman's death treated as suspicious

Police are investigating the suspicious death of a woman in East Ayrshire.

The body of the 46-year-old was discovered in a flat in Loudoun Road in Newmilns at 23:10 on Friday.

A post-mortem examination was due to be carried out to establish exactly how the woman died.

A spokeswoman for Police Scotland confirmed the death was being treated as suspicious. Officers were understood to be following a definite line of inquiry.
