A 19-year-old man has appeared in court charged with murdering a woman in her home in south west Glasgow.

Paul McManus was charged with killing Isabelle Sanders at her home in Crookston on Wednesday, by repeatedly stabbing her on the head and body.

He is also charged with attempting to murder her 85-year-old partner Norman Busby at the house in Raeswood Drive.

Mr McManus, from Govan, made no plea or declaration when he appeared in private and was remanded in custody.

He was also charged with assaulting a 33-year-old man at a car park near the Spar on Barrhead Road and attempting to steal his car.

He will appear at court again next week for a full committal hearing.
