Five hurt in crash between car and lorry in Port Glasgow

Five people have been injured in a crash between a car and a lorry on the A8 in Inverclyde.

The accident, at 08:40 in Port Glasgow, forced the closure of the road in both directions at the Newark Castle roundabout.

One of the five people involved was seriously injured and is in a stable condition in hospital.

It is believed all those who were injured were men. The lorry driver is not thought to have been hurt.

Police Scotland said specialist scene examiners have been at the crash spot carrying out accident investigations.
