A man is to stand trial charged with causing the death of a woman in an alleged hit-and-run in Glasgow.

John Henderson is accused of running over Audrey Gray, 50, in McGregor Street, near Ibrox Stadium, Govan, on 4 May last year.

The 55-year-old, from Bishopton, Renfrewshire, is alleged to have caused her death by driving dangerously.

During a preliminary hearing at the High Court in Glasgow, Judge Lady Rae set a trial due to begin in July.

Mr Henderson also faces an alternative allegation of causing Ms Gray's death while driving without due care and attention.

He is further charged with failing to stop following the incident.

Ms Gray, from Aboyne Street in Govan, was hit by a car at about 15:35 on Saturday 4 May 2013.

She was pronounced dead on arrival at the city's Southern General Hospital.
