Attacked man in 'serious' condition after Pollok assault

Police have started an investigation into the serious assault of a 20-year-old man in the Pollok area of Glasgow early on Saturday.

He was attacked at about 05:30 near Priesthill Road or Peat Road. It is not known how many people were involved.

The man has been taken to the Southern General Hospital where he is reported to be in a serious condition.

Officers have started to speak to local people in an effort to piece together what happened to the man.

Det Sgt Jane Drysdale said: "It's clear the man has been attacked but at this time, there is no motive and we don't know if there has been more than one assailant.

"I am appealing to anyone who may have been in and around that area around the time of the incident as it's possible you may have seen something which could assist our inquiry and help us find out what has happened to this young man."
