John Davis charged with murdering Hazel North

A man has appeared in court charged with murdering a Fife teenager whose body was found in a park in Kilmarnock.

John James Davis, 25, is accused of killing 19-year-old Hazel North whose remains were recovered in the Ayrshire town's Dean Park.

Ms North, from Dunfermline, last contacted her sister on 4 March and was reported missing on Friday.

Mr Davis appeared at Kilmarnock Sheriff Court and was remanded in custody. He will appear in court again next month.
