Police name man hit by three cars on M73

A man who died after being hit by three cars on the M73 motorway in North Lanarkshire has been named by police.

Paul McDermott, from Clydebank, was walking on the southbound carriageway near Gartosh at 05:05 on Saturday, when he was struck. He died at the scene.

The 28-year-old's family described him as a much-loved son and brother, and said he would be sorely missed.

The drivers involved were uninjured but badly shaken. Police have reiterated their appeal for witnesses.
