The A83 at the Rest And Be Thankful has reopened after being shut for almost four days.

Landslip debris forced the closure of the road in the early hours of Thursday morning.

Poor weekend weather hampered efforts to clear the debris but engineers are now satisfied that dangerous boulders have been made safe.

Temporary traffic lights have been installed on the route whilst the next stage of debris fencing is installed.

Specialist airlifting equipment was used over the weekend as geotechnical staff worked to try and secure loose materials.

The Old Military Road diversion was also abandoned for several hours on Saturday after a fallen power cable caused problems at Cairndow.
