Man arrested over armed raid at Port Glasgow bookmakers

A 29-year-old man has been arrested in connection with an armed robbery at a bookmakers in Port Glasgow, Inverclyde.

A masked man escaped with a four-figure sum of cash after threatening staff with a weapon at the Ladbrokes shop in Dubbs Road at about 21:15 on Saturday.

Police said no-one was injured during the incident.

The arrested man is expected to appear at Greenock Sheriff Court from police custody on Tuesday.
