A spectacular winter lighting festival in East Renfrewshire's Rouken Glen Park has sold all of its 24,000 tickets.

The council-run Electric Glen stages an illuminated interactive trail around the park's attractions.

Thousands attended the opening night on Thursday. The first run ends on Sunday and the final shows take place next week from 13 to 16 February.

The event has grown considerably since its debut last year, when all 10,000 tickets sold out.

East Renfrewshire Council leader Jim Fletcher said: "Electric Glen 2014 is a feast for all the senses and definitely a fantastic way to see Rouken Glen Park in a new and exciting way after dark.

"The event brings together some fantastic artists working in visual, sound and performance to bring the heritage of the park to life.

"We're also delighted to involve local schoolchildren in the creative process - engaging them in a project which teaches them about the cultural history on their doorstep."
