Police have released CCTV images of a man they want to trace in connection with two armed raids in Renfrewshire.

The suspect robbed Dunfermline Building Society, on High Street, Johnstone, at about 16:20 on 25 November last year.

Another branch of the building society on Gilmour Street, Paisley, was targeted at about 15:00 on 13 December.

In both cases, a man threatened staff with a weapon. He escaped with a three-figure sum of cash in the first raid and a four-figure sum the second time.

The suspect is described as white, in his late 40s to early 50s, between 5ft 6in to 5ft 8in tall, of thin build, with grey facial hair and short black/grey hair, which is grey at the sides.

Police have asked anyone who recognises the man in the CCTV images to contact them.
