Man on trial over car incident in Moodiesburn

A man is to stand trial accused of running over a 16-year-old boy and then reversing over him.

Martin Barnett, 21, appeared at the High Court in Glasgow on Friday charged with attempted murder.

He is said to have been behind the wheel of a car in Moodiesburn, North Lanarkshire, in February last year when he struck Ross Smith.

It is claimed he then reversed over the teenager's head and body before driving off.

Mr Barnett, from Cumbernauld, is due to stand trial in April.
