Man injured in shooting in Parkhead area of Glasgow

A man has been taken to hospital after a shooting in the east end of Glasgow.

BBC Scotland understands the man was targeted in Westmuir Street, in the Parkhead area of the city, at about 13:10 on Thursday.

A spokeswoman for Police Scotland confirmed that a man had been taken to hospital with a suspected gunshot wound after an incident in Westmuir Street.

The police spokeswoman added: "Officers are on the scene and inquiries are continuing."
