Woman killed on Glasgow pedestrian crossing
A woman has died and another was injured after they were both hit by a Range Rover as they used a pedestrian crossing.
The two women, aged 68 and 67, were crossing Barrhead Road, in the Pollok area of Glasgow, at 16:45 on Saturday when they were hit.
Both were taken to the Southern General hospital, where 68-year-old Carol Collins died a short time later.
The other woman was being treated for injuries to her arm.
The road was closed for about five and a half hours after the crash.
The driver of the black Range Rover, a 42-year-old man, stopped at the scene. He was not injured.
Pc Paul McNamee, of Police Scotland's road policing unit, said: "There were a number of people in the area when the incident happened.
"We have managed to speak to some of them, however, would still appeal for further witnesses to come forward."
