Police have asked for help in tracing a vulnerable woman who is missing from her home in Argyll.

Angela Gow, 52, failed to return after leaving her home in Helensburgh at about 07:00 on Monday.

She is currently on medication but it is not known if she has this with her. Police are concerned for her wellbeing.

Ms Gow is about 5ft 8in tall, with a slim build. She has straight, black, collar-length hair and blue eyes. She may be wearing a purple jacket.

Police have contacted members of Ms Gow's family in Glasgow's Drumchapel area. They are also checking CCTV footage.

Sgt Eric Jardine, of Police Scotland, said: "I am appealing to anyone who may have seen Angela to get in touch with us.

"Her family is extremely concerned and want to know she is safe and well.

"Anyone with information about Angela or her whereabouts is asked to contact police as a matter of urgency."
