Man rescued from Glasgow flat by off-duty firefighter

A man has been rescued from a burning tenement flat in the north of Glasgow by an off duty firefighter.

The man was pulled from the flat in Sandbank Crescent, Maryhill, at about 22:00 on Monday.

Three appliances arrived at the scene soon after and four firefighters entered the second-storey flat and extinguished the blaze in the kitchen.

The Scottish Fire and Rescue Service said the man received treatment at the scene for slight smoke inhalation.
