Irvine pedestrian critically injured by car

A 20-year-old man has been critically injured after being struck by a car in Ayrshire.
The collision took place at about 22:45 on Friday in Kilwinning Road in Irvine.
The injured man is being treated at Crosshouse Hospital in Kilmarnock, where his condition has been described as "stable".
Police have asked for anyone who witnessed the incident, which involved a Citroen Xsara, to make contact with them.
