Driver dies in crash on Howwood to Lochwinnoch road

A 46-year-old man has died in a crash on the A737 between Howwood and Lochwinnoch in Renfrewshire.

The incident happened at about 11:00 and involved a lorry travelling west and an eastbound Ford Galaxy.

Police Scotland said the driver of the car died at the scene of the accident.

The 70-year-old lorry driver suffered minor injuries and was being detained in hospital overnight. The road was closed for some time but was expected to reopen by about 17:00.
