Power outage hits Glasgow's Kinning Park subway station

A car knocked out electricity to 40 properties and a Glasgow subway station after crashing into a Scottish Power box in the south side of the city.

Officers from Police Scotland were called to the incident on Scotland Street at about 00:40 on Friday.

Scottish Power said engineers had worked through the night to get affected supplies restored by 12:25.

Strathclyde Partnership for Transport said Kinning Park station was closed on Friday morning but had since re-opened.
