Biker dies in South Lanarkshire after collision with bus

A 21-year-old motorcyclist has died following a crash in South Lanarkshire on Thursday.

Christopher Lightbody's Kawasaki collided with a bus on the Lanark Road in Braidwood, Carluke.

Mr Lightbody, from nearby Kirkfieldbank, was pronounced dead at the scene. There were no passengers on the bus and the driver was not seriously injured.

Police have asked for anyone who witnessed the crash to contact them.

The investigation is being carried out from Motherwell road policing department of Police Scotland.
