John McGovern, 62, dies after being hit by motorbike in Glasgow

Police have released the name of a 62-year-old man who died after being struck by a motorbike while crossing a road in Glasgow.

John McGovern was hit on Shieldhall Road, Govan, near its junction with Finsbay Street, at 16:35 on Wednesday. He was pronounced dead later.

The 51-year-old man who was driving the motorbike is in a stable condition at Glasgow's Southern General hospital.

Police have appealed for witnesses to contact them.

Mr McGovern lived in Mallaig Road, Glasgow.

A report is being prepared for the procurator fiscal.
