A 21-year-old woman has been arrested in connection with the death of a man in North Ayrshire last week.

The body of Scott Blackwood, 30, was discovered in a house in Saltcoats in the early hours of Thursday 4 July.

Three men appeared in court on Tuesday charged with his murder.

Allan Nicol, 35, Martin McGowan, 27, and Thomas Moore, 26, all from Saltcoats, appeared at Kilmarnock Sheriff Court.

They were also charged with attempting to pervert the course of justice.

The three made no plea or declaration and were remanded in custody.

They are due to appear again on 17 July.

Police had been called to a report of a disturbance at a house in Wheatley Road at about 04:50.

Emergency services attended but Mr Blackwood was pronounced dead at the scene.
