Knifeman sought over shop robbery in Law, Lanarkshire

Police are hunting a man who carried out an armed robbery at a village shop in South Lanarkshire.

The man entered Nad's Store, in Station Road, Law, at about 19:00 on Wednesday.

He threatened a male employee with a knife and demanded money before making off with a four-figure sum of cash.

The suspect was described as white, aged between 20 and 30, of medium build, and about 5ft 10in tall. He was wearing a mid-brown jacket with the hood up, and dark trousers.

Det Con Rob Andrews, from Police Scotland, said: "After studying CCTV, we also know that a man and a woman walked past the suspect at the entrance of the store, just before entering.

"I would like to speak to this couple, as they may have important information that could assist with our inquiry.

"I would like to speak to anyone who may have been in the area at the time of the incident, particularly anyone who may have seen the suspect hanging around the shop before the incident occurred or anyone who may have seen him making his escape towards the open fields near Lawmuir Street."
