Hill-walker airlifted to hospital after Ben Lui fall

A hill-walker has been airlifted to hospital after falling on Ben Lui in the southern Highlands.

The 57-year-old man was taken to the Southern General Hospital in Glasgow suffering from head and leg injuries.

He had contacted Central Scotland Police at 16:20, after which the a Royal Navy rescue helicopter from Prestwick was scrambled.

RAF Leuchars' Mountain Rescue team, who were training in the area, also assisted in the rescue.

Central Scotland Police said: "The severity of injuries sustained by the casualty is unknown at the moment."
