Teenage girl sexually assaulted in Ayrshire street

A 15-year-old girl was indecently assaulted in Ayrshire in the early hours of the morning, police have said.

The teenager was walking along Glasgow Street in Ardrossan when she was approached by a man at about 02:00.

The man spoke to her before they both walked to an area just off Glasgow Street where she was attacked.

Police described the man as about 18, with blond/brown hair, of thin build and about 6ft in height.

They said he was wearing a blue top with "Henley" on the front and blue jeans.

Officers have been reviewing CCTV of the area and carrying out door-to-door inquiries.
