Woman raped in Glasgow as she walked home

The attack took place at about 02:15 on Monday.

The woman was walking on Crow Road, near Cross Park, when a man came up behind her and threatened her.

The victim was taken to a wooded area within the park, where she was sexually assaulted. The attacker then ran off onto Crow Road.

The suspect was in his mid twenties, of Middle Eastern appearance, and about 5ft 8in tall.

He was of a slim build, with short dark hair and a Glasgow accent. He was wearing a white tracksuit top.

Police said there would be additional patrols in the area in an attempt to reassure the public.

Detectives want to hear from anyone who may have been in the area at the time.

Det Insp Fil Capaldi said: "A young woman has been left extremely traumatised and has been subjected to a sickening attack.

"It's absolutely imperative we find the man responsible."
