Fishermen arrested after boat rescue off Campbeltown loch
Three fishermen who had to be rescued after their vessel started taking on water off Campbeltown Loch have been arrested.
The crew of four broadcast a mayday message at 02:30 calling for urgent assistance.
A Royal Navy rescue helicopter from Prestwick was scrambled and the Campbeltown RNLI lifeboat and the local coastguard were sent to the scene.
The coastguard said the crew had been breathalysed and charged by police.
A spokeswoman for Strathclyde Police said: "Three men, aged 38, 46 and 53, were arrested in connection with alleged offences under the Railways and Transport Safety Act 2003."
