Paisley man George Pope dies after road crash

A 42-year-old man died following a road crash in Paisley, it has emerged.
Strathclyde Police said George Pope, 42, from Paisley, was struck by a Ford car in the town's Waverley Road at 20:50 on Thursday.
He was taken by ambulance to the Royal Alexandra Hospital in Paisley, where he died a short time later.
The 43-year-old female driver was not injured in the incident. Police have appealed for any witnesses to contact them.
