Kayaker dies after vessel capsizes in Loch Fyne
A 26-year-old man has died in hospital hours after his kayak capsized on Loch Fyne, in Argyll.
The man and a friend fell into the water after the 15ft kayak capsized between 16:00 and 17:00 on Saturday.
Both managed to make their way back to shore, where they camped overnight with another friend.
Emergency services were called at 06:00 on Sunday after the man became unwell. He died a short time later in Mid Argyll Hospital.
Strathclyde Police said the coastguard was alerted via a 999 call on Sunday morning.
A lifeboat attended and took the men to Tarbert, where they were transferred by ambulance to the hospital.
A report into the incident will be submitted to the procurator fiscal. Police inquiries are continuing.
