Woman, 92, seriously hurt by car in Busby Road, Glasgow

A 92-year-old woman is in a serious but stable condition after being hit by a car while crossing the road in Glasgow.

The woman was struck by an eastbound silver Volkswagen Passat on Busby Road at about 10:00 on Thursday.

She was being treated for back and leg injuries at the city's Victoria Infirmary. The 37-year-old car driver was uninjured.

PC Roger Millar, from Strathclyde Police, appealed for witnesses to get in touch.
