Four held in £500,000 heroin raid in Maryhill, Glasgow

Four people have been arrested after heroin with a street value of £500,000 was seized from a flat in Glasgow.

Police acting under warrant raided the flat in Garbraid Place, in the city's Maryhill area, at about 15:15 on Saturday.

After finding the heroin, officers arrested a 54-year-old man and three women, aged 18, 21 and 44.

All four are in custody and were expected to appear at Glasgow Sheriff Court on Monday.

Ch Insp Ann Hughes said: "This recovery clearly demonstrates our determination to crack down on drugs."
